Fighting for a Stronger, Brighter Future for Columbia Heights

Commissioner Anthony Thomas-Davis represents Single Member District 06 in Advisory Neighborhood Commission 1A, which covers Columbia Heights in Ward 1.

Anthony works each day to build a Columbia Heights that is diverse, vibrant, compassionate, and inclusive. His policy agenda focuses on providing all our community’s residents full access to the core city services that their tax dollars pay for and that promote their well-being. Anthony will fight daily to ensure the foundations of progress for the entire neighborhood, like helping small businesses and spurring economic development, improving and protecting public space and parks, and expanding affordable housing, are priorities for the District’s government.

    My top priority is a safe, inclusive, and thriving community. From enhancing public safety and improving policing to investing in infrastructure and creating and preserving recreational opportunities, I work to improve the quality of life for all residents and ensure our community is a desirable destination for visitors.

    I'm deeply committed to engaging with residents, and I will organize neighborhood events, help to foster a greater sense of belonging and lift up our community's diverse voices. Your needs and concerns will always guide my work.

  • Transparency & Accountability

    I ensure open, responsive communication and accessibility. I'll host regular community meetings and “office hours,” actively engage on social media, and consistently inform residents about important matters affecting our neighborhood.

  • Preserving Our Neighborhood

    Columbia Heights' unique character and heritage must be protected and renewed. I'll champion responsible development, promote historic preservation, and advocate for clean, well-maintained public spaces for all to enjoy.

Our Priorities

  • Core City Services

    Every resident deserves quality city services, especially when we pay our taxes and expect a return on those dollars. I am fighting to ensure city services are improved in our community and support enhanced funding, working w/agency leaders and the Council.

  • Small Business & Economic Growth

    I work tirelessly to support new and existing small businesses and improve our local neighborhood economy. We must work to build a sustainable future that ensures our community and businesses thrive as we continue to recover and evolve post-pandemic.

  • Safe, Accessible, & Reliable Transportation

    I advocate for improved transit options, safer roads and streets, and better infrastructure. We must make it easier and safer for all residents to get around and promote sustainable, reliable modes of transit, especially our buses.

  • Affordable Housing

    Everyone should have access to affordable housing. I work to protect and expand affordable housing options and protect renters' rights to ensure our community remains diverse and inclusive.
